@UVStudio Hey!Thanks for all the compliments! Much appreciated!I use a separate voice recorder for my audio with my Flip - then just match it all up during editing. Pretty straight forward. I reveal how I do it at RapidVideoBlogging DOOOT COOOM (have to use funny url otherwise YouTube wont show it).Gideon Shalwick

Your lav mic works on your flip cam? which adapter did you use? Also, you have pretty decent lighting... I know you have sun light coming in from your right. How else did you light your video? Also, you are very well spoken. Most people out there are not as well spoken as you are in front of the camera. And most people don't know how to cut from tight to wide vice versa like you are doing on this video.

@tyroneshum So true Tyrone - definitely a good idea to just keep on practicing. If I look at some of my earlier videos, I just cringe, but I keep them on there to remind me how much I've learned over the years. One definitely becomes more comfortable and natural over time, as you get more used to yourself in front of the camera :)Gideon Shalwick

Hey Gids,Thanks for spilling out the myths and breaking them. Fortunately, I've loved video so much that I also wanted to help people through this medium. At first it might not be too easy to create quality videos and having you looking professional and sounding professional at the same time as well. Honestly, I'm much comfortable this time so it's all about practice and then it's not going to be hard anymore. :)Tyrone

@marketingtutor Yeah just use Camtasia, or if you're on Mac, like I am, use Screenflow. Really easy to do. Just make sure you use a good microphone as well. That can really help the quality of the recording. I recommend a Snowball Mic.

Looks good, if I want to show powerpoints on video, how would that work? Guessing camtasia?

Gideon, love the advice. You're right, you can buy an HD quality Flip video camera for under $200. Throw in some inexpensive lighting from eBay, and you're ready to go. Great stuff!

People don't realize how much they can really do themselves if they just get creative and think outside the box a bit. All it takes is a little elbow grease half the time. |
